Novo wanted multiple experiences for HCP (Health Care Provider) and consumers across product information, insurance coverage and discounts. I managed scoping, budget, wireframes, copy, FDA approvals, and UAT testing along with creative assets testimonials, stills, videos and product information downloads. All information had 2 audiences, consumer and HCP and thus need lay and technical content.
Marketing in pharma has a unique set of rules and regulations to maintain compliance with FDA requirements. Submitting campaigns and timed assets was extremely challenging as there were no guarantees of approval, and if the assets are not approved or deemed out of compliance the whole campaign would be on hold until a successful approval cycle was completed. In flight asset monitoring was another nuance to pharma, as assets have expiration dates and companies face huge fines and legal action when their assets are discovered in public view after the campaign. Additionally, what a campaign says is scrutinized as the claims a company makes requires verifications to ensure companies are not engaging in false advertising. Package inserts are also required including safety and efficacy warnings. All changes and additions to Novo digital properties required these steps and I was responsible for delivering the assets through these processes and boards.

Veeva Operational Change:
Veeva is the software pharma uses to manage assets through their lifecycle. It is critical pharma companies manage asset expirations, or they can face fines, asset removal and even bans. When I arrived on the Novo project the agency was tracking assets in Excel due to license costs and the multitude of shifting agency partners. The spreadsheets were clunky and required extra work to look up each asset to track expirations. I wondered if it was possible to put a small bit of code allowing the expiration date to trigger notifications to the asset owner. I reached out to engineering at Veeva and made my case. The solution was accepted, and the result was a new era of asset management across not only Novo but all Veeva customers. The change saves Novo almost $2M a year in licensing and agency billing.
